As has happened most of the time, the Dallas Cowboys didn’t make a move ahead of the trade deadline.

This was quite expected, as Jerry Jones had been as cryptic as usual, and HC Mike McCarthy had already stated that he wasn’t going to sit and hope that the team made a big addition.

On that same note, McCarthy now told the media that he was actually okay with his team’s lack of moves, adding that he loves their current roster and would continue to develop the young players they have (via Jon Machota).

The Cowboys entered the season as one of the teams to beat in the NFC, so McCarthy has a valid point here.

Talent-wise, they could go toe-to-toe with most contenders, and while they could use a bit of a boost in terms of defensive depth, they didn’t have any major needs.

Dak Prescott’s play has been a regular talking point around NFL circles, but that’s not an issue the team could’ve been able — or even willing — to address at this point in the season.

The Cowboys have had their fair share of ups and downs this season, but they still rank among the best teams in the conference.

It’s all about making some tweaks to the offense, and they’ve done that by getting CeeDee Lamb more involved.

As for the defense, Micah Parsons looked quite dominant in his last outing, and they’ll now have a big chance to prove that they can beat good teams when they travel to Philadelphia for a showdown with the Eagles.
