The Chicago Bears are in one of the best positions as a franchise heading into the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday night, with the team owning the No. 1 overall pick and the No. 9 overall selection, which means the team can bring in two potential game-changers, especially with all the offensive talent in this draft class.

Even though it seemed like the Bears were ready to draft one of the top wide receivers in the draft at No. 9, the struggling franchise seems to have changed its tune ahead of the start of the draft.

Chicago will almost certainly bring in USC superstar quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick tonight, but now there’s no telling what will happen with their second pick in the top 10.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Bears have let teams around the league know that they are “open for business” regarding the No. 9 pick and are willing to trade it at the right price.

With so many teams in the draft wanting to trade up to land a quarterback or a wide receiver, the No. 9 pick will likely be a hot commodity, which means this could be a smart move for the Bears if they can snag another first-round selection or more capital later in the draft.

The real question now is how desperate are these other teams to trade up for No. 9 and what they are willing to offer because a potential game-changer like wide receiver Rome Ozdunze might be there for the taking.
