Kevin Costner Wins Court Battle Against Estranged Wife After Judge Sides With Him On

Kevin Costner won a court battle against his estranged wife Christine Baumgartner after a judge sided with the star on child support payments after the couple filed for divorce in May following nearly 20 years of marriage.

Judge Thomas Anderle ruled on Friday that the 68-year-old actor would pay $63,209 monthly in his custody battle after the “Yellowstone” star was initially temporarily ordered to pay the former handbag designer, 49, in July $129,755 for support of the estranged couple’s kids, Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13, Fox News reported.

The ruling came after Baumgartner had asked for an increase of the initial payment to $161,592 during a Thursday hearing, Yahoo Entertainment noted.

The actor’s wife initially filed a request in June of $248,000 per month for child support, TMZ noted. Costner asked for the support payments to be $51,000.

During a hearing on Friday, Costner took the stand and said, “Somehow in this unusual world, we didn’t make it, and I’m sorry,” Yahoo noted.

“The last thing I wanted was to not be able to come home to my home with my children,” the Hollywood star told the court. “We did a prenup.”

“My biggest concern now is that the court orders me to pay child support so much so that … I run out of cash,” he added.

The “Field of Dreams” star spoke to Fox News and said that his world has “been shook up” by the divorce.

“So, there’s a few things I have to do with this seismic change,” Costner said. “There’s a few responsibilities I can’t run away from. Mostly what I have to do is figure out how to spend more time with the children and help walk them through this … spend a little time with myself.”

Costner and Baumgartner split in April, per court documents. In May, Christine filed for divorce from “The Postman” star after 18 years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The “Dances with Wolves” star was previously married to Cindy Costner, with whom he shares three children: Annie, 39, Lily, 37, and Joe, 35. The couple divorced in 1994. He also has a son, Liam, 27, with Bridget Rooney.
