Rapper 50 Cent Allegedly Throws Mic During Concert, Injuring Woman

Rapper 50 Cent allegedly threw a microphone off the stage — which apparently struck and injured a women in the crowd — during his concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday at Crypto.com Arena.

The 48-year-old rapper, born Curtis James Jackson III, was performing at his  “The Final Lap” tour and had called out his surprise guest Los Angeles native rapper, YG. During the set, YG was rapping when Jackson’s mic had apparently stopped working, People magazine reported.

In a video that surfaced on social media, 50 Cent can be seen tossing a microphone into the crowd. He is then given a second one and after he attempted to get it to work, the rapper appeared to launch the second mic into the audience with more force, Variety noted.

Images later surfaced of the women allegedly struck by one of the mics, Power 106 host Bryhana Monegain, the outlet noted. Pictures show Monegain with blood on her face and a large gash in her forehead. She was reportedly standing in the production area where his crew was located, People noted. Bryhana reportedly ended up going to the hospital to deal with the injury.

TMZ later reported that the superstar rapper was a suspect in a criminal felony battery report after Monegain filed a police report. However, Variety reported that they had been unable to confirm with Los Angeles Police Department whether a report had been filed or not.

Law enforcement sources told KTLA that when 50 Cent threw the mic, they believe he was intending to throw it to his crew members in the AV area and did not mean to hit Monegain. The radio host reportedly told police 50 cent allegedly “looked directly at her before” he threw the microphone, TMZ noted.

The rapper’s attorney, Scott Leemon, told Variety, “Let’s be very clear, as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone. Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed.”

The rapper’s tour kicked off in July with the European leg set to begin next month in Amsterdam. It will wrap up in December in New Zealand.
