‘Experience The Evil Truth Yourself’: Jordan Peterson Tweets Full Video Banned By YouTube

DailyWire+ contributor Dr. Jordan B. Peterson revealed on Saturday that YouTube had removed a video — in which he and author Helen Joyce discuss gender ideology — for allegedly violating the platform’s “hate speech policy.”

In a tweet posted early Saturday, Peterson shared the message he received from YouTube informing him that a video titled “Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality” was removed due to an alleged “violation”: “Our team has reviewed your content, and, unfortunately, we think it violates our hate speech policy. … We know that this might be disappointing, but it’s important to us that YouTube is a safe place for all.”

Under the “How your content violated the policy” section, YouTube stated in part: “Content glorifying or inciting violence against another person or group of people is not allowed on YouTube. We also don’t allow any content that encourages hatred of another person or group of people based on their membership in a protected group.”

Tagging YouTube, Peterson responded on Twitter: “I have now officially been accused of hate speech by YouTube, Let’s be clear about this: that is a direct accusation [of] conduct deemed criminal in many jurisdictions. This is absolutely not OK, @YouTube. Not OK.”

“I am also accused as you can all see of ‘inciting violence,’” Peterson continued in the thread. “To say I am tired of being accused in this manner by narcissistic authoritarians is to say almost nothing.”

Later on Saturday, Twitter owner Elon Musk suggested that Peterson upload the banned video to Twitter — a suggestion the renowned clinical psychologist followed.

In the tweet containing the video, Peterson added a YouTube-mocking challenge to viewers. “Experience the evil truth yourself,” wrote Peterson.

Within two hours, the post had already racked up more than 675,000 views and 6,800 likes.

YouTube’s censorship of Dr. Peterson comes on the heels of The Daily Wire moving all of host Matt Walsh’s daily show episodes to the platform after YouTube demonetized him over his content taking on gender ideology. On May 30, The Daily Wire began streaming all of its top-ranked hosts’ podcasts for free on the platform.

Citing Musk’s commitment to protecting free speech, Walsh and The Daily Wire screened the groundbreaking documentary “What Is A Woman?” for free on Twitter on June 1, the one-year anniversary of the film’s initial release and the first day of Pride Month. The tweet of the 90-minute film, which features Daily Wire host Matt Walsh asking tough questions underlying the gender ideology movement, has amassed more than 180 million views.
