Steve Kerr Explains How He Uses Bill Belichick As Inspiration

The Golden State Warriors have won four championships since 2015 because of elite players and coaching.

Creating a dynasty in any sport is complicated as many things must go right.

Yet the Warriors have been able to do things the right way for so many years.

One of the key assets in their dynasty is head coach Steve Kerr.

He is one of the greatest coaches of all time and has an incredible resume to back it up.

Kerr mentioned how he has picked up a coaching tactic from Bill Belichick over the years.

According to The Volume, Kerr went on the Draymond Green Show to say how he tries to make their opponents “play left-handed.”

The Warriors have had plenty of success over the years defeating teams with star players.

That is because they would focus on slowing down the role players and letting the star score as much as he wanted.

Not even the best player in the league can win a game by himself.

For example, when facing the Nuggets, everyone knows Nikola Jokic is their best player.

Kerr was impressed by the Miami Heat’s ability to slow down the Nuggets’ role players in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

That was one of the main reasons why they were able to win that game.

Golden State has been dominant forcing their opponents to play left-handed.

It appears that may be the best strategy when facing a team with an MVP-caliber player.
