The Chicago Bears have to be ecstatic with how the offseason has unfolded as they not only managed to supplement their offense with playmakers like D’Andre Swift and Keenan Allen, but they’re also set to pick first in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Chicago’s deal with the Carolina Panthers last year is paying massive dividends now as they’re widely expected to take USC’s Caleb Williams first overall.

The Bears made sure to clear the starting job for Williams when they sent Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Williams now walks into one of the best possible situations for a rookie quarterback as he’ll have several offensive weapons to work with as well as a rising defense that can help cover for him.

The hype around Williams is understandable given what he was able to accomplish in college and he could very well make Chicago a playoff contender sooner rather than later.

Even though Williams has yet to take a snap in the NFL, analysts like Rick Spielman of CBS already believe he can be as impactful as someone like Houston Texans star CJ Stroud.

“If he [Caleb Williams] ends up in Chicago I think there’s a 95% chance or higher that he has similar type production CJ Stroud had,” Spielman said.

Stroud was a revelation in his rookie year as he led the Texans to a surprising playoff appearance and eventually won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Williams has that sort of potential because of his arm talent, mobility, and football IQ and it’ll be exciting to see if he can deliver in his first professional season.
