Clippers Have A Concerning Trend Since The All-Star Break

After acquiring superstar guard James Harden earlier in the 2023-24 NBA regular season, the Los Angeles Clippers immediately fell apart, with head coach Tyronn Lue struggling to figure out how to use his four veteran stars.

The combination of Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook was a scary sight on paper, but the results weren’t there on the basketball floor until Lue chose to have Westbrook come off the bench.

The Clippers started to turn it on after that decision was made resulting in Leonard and company becoming one of the best all-around teams in the NBA once again, as the team worked it’s was up to fourth place in the Western Conference standings.

Unfortunately, even though the Clippers are in a good place in terms of the playoff picture in the West, the team has been struggling against winning teams since the NBA All-Star break, with Farbod Esnaashari of Sports Illustrated reporting that the squad has an ugly record of 1-8 against winning teams since the All-Star break via Legion Hoops.

Obviously, one win in nine games against formidable opponents is not a good sign for what could be in store for the Clippers during the NBA playoffs, as Lue’s squad could struggle against the best of the best when it comes to competing in a seven-game series.

With the West being as stacked as it is this season, the Clippers could be in for a reality check once the postseason gets underway on April 20, as Los Angeles might not be able to hang with the conference’s best teams.
