The New York Yankees have a reason to be optimistic entering the 2024 season.

That is due to the blockbuster trade they made this offseason.

The Yankees landed All-Star outfielder Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres.

Soto joins Aaron Judge atop the Yankees’ lineup and they form one of the best 1-2 punches in the sport.

Pending health, there may not be a duo who has more home runs than those two.

According to MLB, Judge and Soto are projected to have the second and third-highest WARs this season.

Those two trail only Ronald Acuna Jr. from the Atlanta Braves.

Judge may be the best power hitter in the entire sport.

He has hit 138 home runs over the past three seasons and that has come with him missing time.

Judge has battled injuries throughout his entire career.

He was only able to play 106 games last year.

But, the Yankees need him on the field for 150+ if they want to make a run at the AL East title.

As for Soto, he is one of the best pure hitters in the sport.

He does not have any glaring weaknesses in his game.

It would not be a surprise to see Soto set his career-high in home runs this year, as the short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium should do wonders for the lefty.

It would not be a surprise to see the AL MVP come from the Yankees.

They have two of the best players in the league and should feed off each other this season.
