Times are changing in the NFL, with some of the best veteran players in the game deciding to call it a career or being forced to play elsewhere during this NFL offseason.

Veteran superstar quarterback Russell Wilson will be forced to move on after two disappointing seasons with the Denver Broncos, as he failed to live up to expectations after being part of a massive blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks.

Along with Wilson set to play for another NFL franchise next season, the Philadelphia Eagles have seen some of their best players decide to walk away from the game this month.

First, it was veteran center Jason Kelce who decided to call it a career, and then shortly after that, the Eagles lost Fletcher Cox to retirement, which prompted Wilson to take to Twitter to congratulate Cox for a successful career in the NFL, calling him a “legend.”

The four-time All-Pro defensive tackle had quite a career in the league and was a staple for the Eagles on the defensive side of the football, as he played for Philadelphia throughout his entire career from 2012 to 2023.

With Kelce and Cox choosing to end their playing careers, the Eagles will have their work cut out for them this offseason to try to replace these two savvy veterans, who were both big voices in the locker room and helped the team on and off the gridiron.

It’s unfortunate for the Eagles after such a disappointing 2023 campaign, which started off with 10 wins in the first 11 games and ended with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers blowing them out in the first round of the NFL playoffs.
