Lakers Highlight How Close LeBron James Is To Elite Record

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off a pair of thrilling wins this past week.

The Lakers managed to complete a 21-point comeback against the Los Angeles Clippers before beating the Washington Wizards in a surprising overtime game.

Los Angeles is fortunate to have escaped with wins considering how bunched up the Western Conference standings are.

LeBron James was at the heart of both victories as he keyed the fourth-quarter run against the Clippers and was clutch against the Wizards.

James has been nothing short of amazing in his 21st NBA season and looks like a man on a mission as he tries to lead Los Angeles back to the postseason.

The Lakers are set to take on the Denver Nuggets tonight and James is quickly approaching another huge scoring milestone, via the team’s official Twitter account.

“39,991 points,” the team tweeted.

James will become the first player in NBA history to surpass 40,000 career points, an accomplishment that most deemed impossible.

Last season, James broke the all-time scoring record previously held by fellow Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and he’s in line to make more history when they play the Nuggets.

To say James’ career has been a massive success is an understatement and it’s even more impressive that he still doesn’t consider himself a scorer.

James has been adamant that his best basketball attribute is his passing and playmaking, though his stats suggest otherwise.

The crowd will surely be waiting in anticipation for the moment that James cracks 40,000 points and the league should be all-in on ensuring that it gets the attention it deserves.
