After the Arizona Cardinals parted ways with veteran star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins before last season, there was a lot of speculation on where the five-time All-Pro wideout would land, with only a few teams showing interest in his services.

Ultimately, Hopkins took a route that no one saw coming as he chose to join the Tennessee Titans, who were a team that had just drafted a rookie quarterback and seemed to be heading into a rebuilding phase.

Despite seemingly being a poor decision by Hopkins, he was able to have some success with the Titans during the 2023 campaign, finishing with 75 catches for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns.

With the Titans shockingly parting ways with head coach Mike Vrabel recently and superstar running back Derrick Henry set to sign elsewhere during the NFL offseason as a free agent, the rebuilding phase has officially begun in Tennessee, which has inevitably sparked rumors about Hopkins’ future once again.

On Thursday, a rumor surfaced on Twitter that Hopkins could be looking to join another team during the offseason, but he shot that down quickly by calling out the false rumor.

Although Hopkins shot down this rumor incredibly quickly, the Titans might have other plans, with the substantial savings ($16.4 million) that the team would get by cutting him by June 1.

So, despite Hopkins’ desire to stay in Tennessee and be Will Levis’ go-to wide receiver downfield, the future of the veteran wideout doesn’t appear to be in his hands, especially if the team is intent on rebuilding.
