There have been many MLB players over the years who had seasons they would like to forget.

Baseball is a tough sport, as even the greatest players of all time fail seven out of 10 times at the plate.

Across the years there have been some players that have played very poorly for a season.

One name at the top of the list is former Baltimore Orioles slugger Chris Davis.

According to B/R Walk-Off, Davis has the worst season by a player since 2000.

His 2018 season posted a WAR of -3.3.

There was a time when Davis was the most dangerous power-hitter in baseball.

He led baseball in home runs twice, hitting 53 in 2013 and 47 in 2015, but with his huge power swing came a lot of swings and misses.

That reared its ugly head in 2018 when Davis batted .168 across 128 games.

He batted 470 times that season and struck out 192.

His OPS was .539 and he only recorded 79 hits.

Not to mention, Davis was not a good defensive player.

All of those things factored into his WAR being negative.

You can see the second player on this list is Adam Dunn.

He and Davis had a very similar skill set.

They both were power hitters that struck out far too many times.

Dunn in 2011 batted .159 with 177 strikeouts in 122 games.

Also, he struggled in the field playing both first base and right field.

We have seen some terrible seasons across MLB history, but players that strike out a ton and hit for a low average seem to cost their team the most.
