The 2023 season was a major success for the Minnesota Twins.

Not only did they win the AL Central, but they won a playoff game for the first time since 2004.

Now the Twins are hoping for an encore season that is just as successful.

For that to happen, it would be wise if the Twins improved their roster this offseason.

They are actively trying to do so, and just made a smaller move by signing a relief pitcher.

According to the Twins, they have signed Josh Staumont to a one-year deal.

Staumont has spent the first five seasons of his career as a member of the Kansas City Royals.

He has a career 4.01 ERA in what has been a middle relief role.

Staumont is entering his age-30 season and should provide value in the Twins bullpen.

The Twins already have one of the best closers in baseball in Jhoan Duran.

Staumont will not unseat him but he could compete for a setup role.

Last season, the Twins had one of the worst bullpen ERAs in the American League.

Their season bullpen ERA was 3.84, which was the sixth worst in the AL.

They are willing to do whatever to help that part of their team.

Minnesota should enter next season as the favorite to win the AL Central.

They have a good lineup and that can help cover up some of their pitching holes.

We saw last season that the best team does not necessarily always win.

All you have to do is get into the playoffs and you have a chance at winning the World Series.

That is what the Twins will be hoping to do.
