It’s no easy task to be a head coach in the NFL these days, as coaches seem to come and go every single year with a life expectancy of a job at that position only being a few years because of the demand for results on an annual basis.

One head coach in the NFL who is definitely on the hot seat heading into the final few games of the regular season is Arthur Smith of the Atlanta Falcons, who has been unable to turn things around for the struggling franchise with the team more than likely being on the outside looking in on the NFL playoffs.

To Smith’s defense, he wasn’t given the best roster to work with, as he’s had to deal with a young quarterback who doesn’t seem to have it in Desmond Ridder and a rookie running back Bjian Robinson, that he doesn’t know how to use.

Coming into Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts, the Falcons are sporting a record of 6-8 and have made the change from Ridder to veteran quarterback Taylor Heinicke, which is a move that wasn’t expected because Smith said the 24-year-old would be the starter for the rest of the season.

Apparently, Smith’s decision to switch to Heinicke after saying he’d stick with Ridder didn’t sit well with NFL legend Terry Bradshaw, who ripped the head coach for making the move via pboyydouglas.

“Play the young man, leave him alone, and don’t lie to him,” Bradshaw said.

Here are some fan reactions to Bradshaw’s comments on Falcons head coach Arthur Smith:

Bradshaw, who was a Hall of Fame quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, knows full well what it’s like to be a quarterback in this league and the pressure that comes with playing the position.

It’s no surprise that he’d feel for Ridder in this situation, as the young quarterback wasn’t given a chance to finish the season because he likely knows his job is on the line, as Bradshaw pointed out.
