Canadian Police Arrest Terror Suspect Who Was Allegedly Planning Attacks Against Jews:

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrested a minor in Ottawa last week for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack against Jews.

The Global News reported that the suspect was arraigned in court on Saturday on two criminal charges in what national security sources said was a religiously motivated incident.

The RCMP said he was charged with facilitation of a terrorist activity “by communicating instructional material related to an explosive substance” and he was charged with “instructing, directly or indirectly, a person to carry out a terrorist activity against Jewish persons.”

The boy’s father told a separate publication that he did not think his son was capable of carrying out an act of terrorism.

“He’s too young,” the man said. “He doesn’t have any plan of terrorism attacks or something.”

The RCMP has arrested several minors on terrorism charges over the last several months in what officials have said is a disturbing pattern of young people becoming radicalized online.

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre wrote on X, “The alleged terror plot targeting Jews in Ottawa should awaken us to the horrifying rise of antisemitism since Hamas’ genocidal Oct. 7 attack on Israel.”

“We must redouble our efforts to protect our people and defeat anti-Jewish hatred. Thanks to the RCMP for their work to protect our people,” he added.

The news comes after seven people, including at least four suspected Hamas terrorists, were arrested in three European countries last week for allegedly plotting terrorist attacks against Jews.

The arrests took place in Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands, the three countries said on Thursday.

German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann said in a statement that German law enforcement “in cooperation with Dutch authorities, today arrested four members of Hamas who were planning attacks on Jewish institutions in Europe.”

“Abdelhamid Al A., Mohamed B., Ibrahim El-R. and Nazih R. have been longstanding members of HAMAS and have participated in HAMAS operations abroad,” prosecutors said in a statement. “They are closely linked to the military branch’s leadership.”

Three of the suspects were arrested in Germany while another was arrested in the Netherlands. Three additional suspects were arrested in Denmark on terrorism-related charges, but it was not clear if they were connected to the other four suspects who had been arrested.

“On behalf of HAMAS, Abdelhamid Al A. started searching for an underground weapons cache in Europe no later than spring 2023, which the organisation had created in the past in a conspiratorial manner,” prosecutors said. “He received his orders from HAMAS leaders in Lebanon. The weapons were due to be taken to Berlin and kept in a state of readiness in view of potential terrorist attacks against Jewish institutions in Europe. In October 2023, Abdelhamid Al A., Mohamed B. and Nazih R. travelled repeatedly from Berlin to look for the weapons, with Ibrahim El-R. providing assistance.”
