For the New York Jets, the 2023 season was one of the most anticipated in the history of the franchise, thanks to the addition of All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers earlier in the year.

Unfortunately, Rodgers went down with a season-ending Achilles injury during New York’s very first offensive series of the 2023 season.

After Rodgers went down, Zach Wilson resumed his role as the Jets’ starting quarterback, and the team is trying their best to rally around the young signal-caller.

Despite Wilson and New York suffering a 20-point loss to the Dallas Cowboys last week, NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo revealed on Sunday that the Jets were still impressed with some of the things the young quarterback was able to do in the matchup.

“I spoke to [New York] backup quarterback Tim Boyle the other day, and he said, ‘what was really impressive was Wilson’s communication.’ He said he heard [Wilson] talking to [Jets wide receiver] Garrett Wilson on the sideline late in the game when the score was out of hand, but they were still working on their communication.”

Wilson will get another opportunity to put his improvements on display when the Jets host the New England Patriots on Sunday for a Week 3 showdown inside MetLife stadium.

Getting a win over the Patriots certainly isn’t going to be easy for New York and their young passer.

New England might have an 0-2 record this season, but their poor start hasn’t been because of their defense.

In the two games on their 2023 schedule, the Patriots pass defense has only allowed a total of two passing touchdowns to their two opponents.

New England head coach Bill Belichick is known for making life very difficult for opposing quarterbacks, especially for those who play in the same division as the Patriots.

Wilson should be expecting a tough afternoon against New England on Sunday, but if he can help New York get a win, that’s all that Jets fans are going to care about.
