Browns Receive Major Update On Nick Chubb’s Injury

Week 2 served the Cleveland Browns a devastating blow as they saw star running back Nick Chubb leave the game with a serious knee injury.

The early reports were not good and the replay video was so gruesome that the broadcast said they could not show fans.

It wasn’t long before it was announced that Chubb would miss the remainder of the season and there was concern that he sustained major damage to his knee.

The injury occurred on the same knee he hurt in college which led to some speculation that his career could be in jeopardy

However, it seems that the Browns and Chubb received some good news as the injury isn’t as serious as originally anticipated via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Chubb looked like he may have torn his ACL after taking a hit in the second quarter, but a torn MCL is indeed much better than tearing both ligaments.

While six to eight months is still a lengthy amount of time to rehab, there’s optimism that Chubb will be able to regain his form at some point next season.

In his absence, Jerome Ford is expected to take over his role with the recently-signed Karem Hunt coming in as the presumed third-down back.

All in all, it feels like Cleveland and Chubb avoided disaster and fans should be able to breathe a sigh of relief that it wasn’t more serious.

The Browns still have a chance to compete in the AFC, though things are much more difficult without Chubb in the fold.
