Video Shows Kyrie Irving Working Out With Clippers Star In The Gym
The 2023-24 season is a pivotal one for the Dallas Mavericks as they look to get back into the playoffs after missing them entirely in the 2022-23 campaign.
The Mavericks tried to increase their chances of competing last trade deadline when they swung a blockbuster deal for Kyrie Irving.
Irving had been embroiled in a contract dispute with the Brooklyn Nets and when it was clear they couldn’t come to terms on an extension they traded him to Dallas.
Pairing Irving with Luka Doncic was a gamble as the two superstars are both ball-dominant guards that are at their best when the basketball is in their hands.
Although the first year of their experiment didn’t work, the Mavericks still believe in Irving as they handed him a three-year deal in free agency this summer.
While there might be some skepticism about his fit with Doncic, Irving remains committed to improving his game as he was recently seen working out with Los Angeles Clippers guard Russell Westbrook via Joey Linn of FanNation.

Irving and Westbrook are shown doing a drill where the former pitches him the ball in the corner and the latter explodes to the rim for a dunk.
It’s common for players to work out together in the offseason and Irving and Westbrook are just another example of that.
Like Irving, Westbrook has a lot to prove with the Clippers as the guard has been deemed an unwinning player in recent years.
The two have a lot of work to do to prove to their respective teams that they can contribute to winning at the highest levels.
