The consensus heading into the 2023 NFL season is that the Arizona Cardinals could very well be the worst team in the league and may potentially be on the verge of one of the worst seasons in the franchise’s history.

It wasn’t all that long ago that the Cardinals were considered to be a serious threat in the NFC with a stacked offense led by quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins while sporting a formidable defense with Chandler Jones, J.J. Watt, and Budda Baker.

Now it seems that everything has changed in Arizona, with the majority of those big names either leaving in free agency, being released, or choosing to retire.

In fact, the only two left standing are Baker and Murray, but the star quarterback won’t be back until at least after Week 4, and Baker asked to be traded during the offseason, which he has only recently changed his mind about.

Despite all that has gone on in Arizona with an ugly season projected ahead, new starting quarterback (until Murray returns) Joshua Dobbs claims he’s ready for his opportunity, via ProFootballTalk.

Obviously, having a confident quarterback in a less-than-stellar situation in Arizona to start the season is a good thing, but unless Dobbs is a hidden gem ready for a breakout year, it could get rough during the first four weeks of the season.

It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for the Cardinals, with no one expecting them to do much of anything during the 2023 campaign.
