The reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs have to be feeling good with where they are ahead of the 2023 season.

The Chiefs have retained most of the core from their recent Super Bowl run and are considered to once again be the favorites to win it all.

Kansas City is blessed to have Patrick Mahomes as their quarterback as well as star tight end Travis Kelce, but the rest of the offense has its fair share of intriguing talent.

The wide receiver room will be led by Kadarius Toney, who should benefit from having a full offseason with the team, while the Chiefs are high on their young stable of receivers headlined by Skyy Moore.

With Mahomes quarterbacking, throwing the football always seems like the best option but the run game can’t be completely ignored.

Running back has never been a priority for the roster build, but the team did receive good news when Isiah Pacheco returned to the practice field on Monday, via Adam Teicher of ESPN.

Pacheco had to undergo two offseason surgeries to address the hand and labrum injuries he suffered last year.

The second-year running back was able to play through the injuries in Super Bowl LVII but the issues were clearly more serious than the team let on.

Fortunately, it seems as though he’s finally back to near-full health if he was able to participate in team practice.

A tough runner with a knack for finding space, Pacheco is a valuable addition to the Chiefs’ offense and it’ll be exciting to see what he can do in an expanded role.
