On Saturday, tensions flared between the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox after Jose Ramirez slid into second base and was tagged out by Tim Anderson, who tagged the Guardians star quite hard.

As it turns out, Ramirez already had a little deep-seated resentment towards Anderson.

Ramirez and Anderson exchanged punches before Ramirez delivered a hit to the left side of Anderson’s face, knocking him to the ground.

After the game, Ramirez spoke to the media about what took place between him and the White Sox shortstop and revealed that he had wanted to do something about the way Anderson had allegedly behaved.

Ramirez said he believed that Anderson had been “disrespecting the game,” and that it was something that had been going on for a while.

He said he had a chance to tell Anderson that he didn’t like what he was doing, and that the hard tag is what ultimately sent him over the edge.

Ramirez also claimed that after the tag, Anderson seemed inclined to fight and that at that moment, he had no choice but to defend himself.

The White Sox emerged victorious in Saturday’s tilt, winning by a final score of 7-4 over the Guardians.

Things certainly got heated between the two American League Central division rivals, and tensions, as well as Ramirez’s frustration with Anderson, boiled over in the bottom of the sixth.

Ramirez and Anderson were both ejected from the game and may soon face discipline from Major League Baseball as a result of the fight.
