Analysts Call Out Yankees For Quiet Deadline
The New York Yankees were relatively quiet this year at the trade deadline, which came and passed on Tuesday.
The only significant move made by the Yankees was the acquisition of reliever Keynan Middleton from the Chicago White Sox.
Other than that, the Yankees were pretty silent.
Former MLB catcher A.J. Pierzynski took note of the Yankees’ quiet deadline and criticized them for not doing a little bit more to improve their ballclub.
Pierzynski spoke about their deadline approach and lack of key moves on the MLB podcast “Foul Territory.”

Pierzynski stated that it seemed to him like the Yankees picked up Middleton with minutes to spare for the sake of being able to say that they made a move.
He criticized the team for not making any truly impactful moves at this year’s deadline.
Scott Braun then chimed in and commented on the fact that Brian Cashman has been the general manager of the Yankees for almost a quarter century, noting that several younger Yankees fans weren’t even born when he took over.
Braun stated that he believes that is too long and that the Yankees may soon need to go in a different direction.
Former Yankee star Todd Frazier noted something important, that the vast majority of the Yankees fanbase is ready for owner Hal Steinbrenner to hire a new general manager and replace Cashman.
He also stated that at a certain point, the Yankees have to find a way to add some new pieces and strengthen their roster.
