Mark Cuban Speaks Out About Perception Of Kyrie Irving
For years, Kyrie Irving has developed a bit of a complicated reputation around the NBA.
First, he reportedly didn’t want to be in LeBron James’ shadow, so he shockingly requested a trade out of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Then, he infamously vowed to re-sign with the Boston Celtics, then called out their young players, and walked away as a free agent.
Lastly, he had a never-ending string of controversies with the Brooklyn Nets, from stating that they didn’t need a coach all the way to sharing a link to an anti-semitic documentary.
But as tangled up in controversies as he’s been throughout the course of his career, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban believes, via NBACentral and SiriusXM NBA, he’s just misunderstood.

Of course, Cuban has always been an out-of-the-box thinker himself, and he’s also great at doing business, meaning he knows better than to infuriate one of his biggest stars.
Kyrie’s volatile and unpredictable character have been talking points in the league forever, and his outspoken nature hasn’t always rubbed the media the right way.
But his colleagues and former teammates always seem to like him, and they have nothing but praise for him as both a player and a person, so there’s a chance that Cuban is right about him.
Then again, history could repeat itself in Dallas.
Kyrie’s tenure always starts off great, and things tend to derail quite quickly, so even though he’s happy there right now, that doesn’t mean he’ll be happy there in two years.
