This summer has been jam-packed with NBA news, with the league being as popular as ever and seemingly never stopping these days with free agency following the 2023 NBA Draft and the NBA Finals.

On Wednesday, ahead of the NBA Summer League heading to Las Vegas this weekend, news broke about the league’s plans to add an in-season tournament.

Although this in-season tournament has been in the works for quite some time, there haven’t really been any details about how it will go down during the NBA season.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the NBA’s In-Season Tournament will have its Final Four in Las Vegas at the beginning of December.

This is an interesting development considering the fact that December is when the regular season really starts to kick into gear, with every NBA fan waiting for the Christmas Day games, which almost always feature the best teams in the league going head-to-head.

So if the NBA’s In-Season Tournament turns out to be a hit, December will be quite a month for basketball fans with a lot to look forward to.

However, it might take some time to win over the fans and the players, as it doesn’t appear to be a popular decision among the NBA faithful.

However, few things are popular right out of the gate when it comes to changes in professional sports, with the Play-in Tournament being a perfect example of how something can go from being unwanted to very entertaining in a few short years.
