Madonna Rushed To Hospital After Being Found Unresponsive

Singer Madonna was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after she was found unresponsive.

According to a report published Wednesday by entertainment site Page Six, the 64-year-old singer was reportedly taken to the Intensive Care Unit and intubated for at least one night before doctors removed the tube.

Madonna’s manager Guy O’Seary detailed the situation in a Wednesday post on Instagram, revealing that a bacterial infection had been the cause of the star’s rapid decline and saying that she was on the road to recovery.

“On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU,” O’Seary wrote. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”

O’Seary went on to say that, for health reasons, the performer would be putting all upcoming performances and appearances on hold until they were certain that she had recovered enough to return to her regular schedule.

“At this time, we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour,” he wrote. “We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

Madonna had only recently announced her “Celebration Tour,” meant to celebrate her four decades in the music business. It was initially scheduled to kick off on July 15 in Vancouver, and included some 84 performances all around the globe.

“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” she told Page Six in January, promising that the tour would include songs from every album beginning with her self-titled debut album that was first released in 1983.
