New England Patriots Player Arrested For Trying To Take 2 Guns Onto Plane: Report

New England Patriots defensive back Jack Jones was arrested this week at Boston Logan International Airport for allegedly trying to bring two firearms onto a plane.

TSA agents found the firearms in Jones’ carry-on luggage when he went through airport security on Friday evening in Terminal B.

The 25-year-old was later arrested by Massachusetts State Police and taken to the State Police-Logan Airport Barracks where he posted bail.

NBC Boston reported that Jones was charged with possession of a concealed weapon inside a secure area of an airport, possession of ammunition without a firearm ID card, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.

The Patriots said in a statement that they were aware of the incident and that they were reviewing the matter.

“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today,” the statement said. “We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time.”

He will be arraigned in federal court next week.

Social media users pointed out online Friday night that Jones commented last month on Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant being suspended by the NBA for 25 games without pay after he was seen waving a gun in a video posted to social media.

Make one of yo homies sign up for security or concealed carry if you feel like you need it that bad.. but you the bread winner you gotta start acting like it.”
