A lot of people across the NFL are picking the Kansas City Chiefs to once again reach the Super Bowl, if not win the Super Bowl.

They have the game’s best quarterback in Patrick Mahomes, the best tight end in the world in Travis Kelce, and an accomplished head coach in Andy Reid.

Although the Chiefs aren’t known for their defense, they do have one of the best defensive tackles around in Chris Jones.

His current contract expires at the end of this coming season, and analyst Brad Spielberger feels he could be in for a huge payday once he receives a new contract.

Giving Jones a new contract extension seems to be a big priority for the Chiefs these days, as they want to keep together enough of the core that has brought them two world championships in the last four seasons.

They have already lost Tyreek Hill, who was traded to the Miami Dolphins a year ago, and fellow wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is now with the New England Patriots.

In 2022, Jones had perhaps his best season yet with 15.5 sacks, 29 quarterback hits, and 17 tackles for loss.

That production earned him his fourth trip to the Pro Bowl and his first selection to the All-Pro first-team, and he also finished third in the Defensive Player of the Year balloting.

The AFC will be extremely loaded this coming season, and Jones and his teammates will need to be at their best if they are to earn their third Vince Lombardi Trophy in recent years.
