Stolen cars recovered: North Ridgeville police blotter


NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio

Stolen vehicle: Center Ridge Road

On May 8, police received a report of a stolen car heading west on US 20 from Lear Nagle Road. The driver was located and arrested on charges of receiving stolen property, drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and possession of a controlled substance.

Receiving stolen property: Lorain Road

On May 6, police were notified of a stolen plate on a car traveling west. The car was located at a local motel and two occupants were detained. The car was determined to be stolen, and a passenger was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.

Stolen vehicle: Lorain Road

Police received a report of a car with a stolen Pennsylvania license plate near Cook Road on May 8. Police located the car, which was stolen, at a gas station. The driver was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, violating a protection order, obstructing official business and possessing drug abuse instruments. A female passenger was also cited and released.

Resisting arrest: Ridgeview Boulevard

During a traffic stop for an owner who had a suspended license on May 12, police suspected the man was under the influence of drugs. The suspect refused to exit the car and had to be removed. He was charged with driving under suspension’ possessing drug abuse instruments; and prohibitions against resisting or interfering with any official.

Driving under the influence: Meadow Lakes Boulevard

On May 10, a driver as arrested and charged with operating under the influence after a suspicious vehicle complaint.

Driving under the influence: Avon Belden Road

On May 9, an officer responded to a single-car crash. A woman was arrested and charged with drunk driving and open container.

Drunk driving: Sprague Road

Police responded to a report of a car in a ditch on May 8. The operator was charged with careless operation and drunk driving.

Drug investigation: Ohio 10

On May 7, police stopped a driver for a moving violation and a potential wanted person. The driver was arrested and charged with drug trafficking; two felony counts of possession of controlled substances; and a felony charge of heroin possession.

Assault: Ridgeview Boulevard

A man was assaulted by his wife’s life-in boyfriend, who attempted to draw a firearm during the May 8 confrontation. The suspect was charged with assault, domestic violence, having weapons under disability and aggravated menacing.

Drunk driving: Center Ridge Road

On May 5, a driver was arrested and charged with drunk driving, driving under OVI suspension, open container and falsification.

Menacing, US 20

Motorists reported a traffic altercation that led to a man drawing a weapon on April 19.

Failure to comply: Lear Nagle Road

Police attempted to stop a driver that had been involved in a pursuit. The driver did not stop, and police pursued the suspect to the city limits before terminating the pursuit.

Drunk driving: Center Ridge Road

Officers were dispatched for a report of a man passed out at the wheel of a car on May 4. He was arrested and charged with physical control.
