Rose Sophia Hollinger, 95, of East Liverpool, gained her wings on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 with her loving family by her side and beloved cat, Lily.
Rosie, as she was lovingly called, was born in Mt. Dora, Florida, on May 10, 1926, the daughter of the late Phillip S. and Lucille M (Bucher)Miraglata. In her early years, she attended Saint Aloysius school and was a graduate of East Liverpool High School; she also attended the Ohio Valley Business College.
Rosie married the love of her life whom she met at the Boot and Saddle Club, Charles William “Cowboy” Hollinger with the beautiful blue eyes. They were married on May 21, 1949, and spent the next 66 years making memories together until his passing on August 19, 2015.
Those living to cherish her memory are: her daughters, Faye Williams, of East Liverpool, and Peggy Esenwein, of Austintown; four grandchildren: Holly (Jeff) Tripp, of Beaver Falls, Carrine Esenwein of Austintown, Jeny Esenwein, of Louisville, and Katie Italiano, of Austintown. Also living in her memory are eight great-grandchildren: Alexis, Ryane, Landon, Vance, Kadon, Avery Rose, Caden Rose, and Sophie Grace; Rosie’s childhood best friend of 84 years, JoAnne Hildich, also lives in her memory and currently resides in Utah; special nieces: Debbie Hanlon, Lizzie, and Elizabeth, and special nephew, Samuel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express appreciation to Hospice, New Philadelphia, OH, and Visiting Angels, of Salem, OH for the wonderful care Rosie received.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in honor of Rosie to the following organizations: Community Hospice, Truman House, 716 Commerical Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663; Columbiana County Dog Pound, 8455 County Home Road, Lisbon, OH 44432; or to Visitng Angels Home Care, 1285 E Pidgeon Road A, Salem, OH 44460

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 5PM-7PM, at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists- Martin Chapel, in Calcutta. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 11 AM.
Rosie will be laid to rest in Calcutta Cemetery.
