NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio
Drunk driving: Center Ridge Road
On March 17, police were advised a woman was passed out in her car on US 20 near Lear Nagle Road. Witnesses stayed with the suspect until offers arrived. She was arrested and charged with drunk driving.
Stolen car: Lorain Road
On March 23, a car was reported stolen; police located the car in the parking lot of a gas station. Two men were found in the business, one of whom had the keys to the car. Both were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. One had a firearm and was also charged with having weapons under disability and obstructing justice.
Misuse of 911 System: Olive
On March 11, police were dispatched for an unwanted person at a residence. A woman reported her adult children were causing a disturbance. She was cited for misuse of the 911 system and transported to the hospital.
Possession: Bainbridge Road
During a traffic stop on March 21, a passenger was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after multiple baggies of methamphetamine were found. The passenger and the owner also had active warrants for their arrest.
Failure to comply: Center Ridge Road
On March 21, Elyria Police were in pursuit of a speeding driver. North Ridgeville officers pursed the vehicle into Westlake before terminating the pursuit.
Unauthorized use: Tailfeather Drive
On March 19, police received an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle complaint. The car was located and recovered a short time later. A 16-year-old faces a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Wrongful entrustment: Bagley Road
An officer stopped a driver for speeding on March 20. The driver was cited for driving without a license and speeding; and the owner was cited for wrongful entrustment.
