Lima man jailed as suspect in two armed robberies Wednesday
LIMA — A 21-year-old Lima man is in custody in connection with two armed robberies in the city on Wednesday.
According to a spokesman for the Lima Police Department, at approximately 11 a.m. a suspect brandishing a knife entered the Express Mart at 1590 N. West St. and demanded cash. The clerk was able to lock himself into a storage room and call 911 and the suspect fled without obtaining any money.
Police say the same suspect, again brandishing a knife, then walked to the Rite Aid store at 302 W. Robb Ave. and demanded cash. The clerk was unable to open the register and the suspect left the business.
Lima police officers were dispatched to the area and given a description of the suspect, who was located just north of the business on North West Street. Javohz Paris was taken into custody without incident. The weapon was located on the suspect at the time of arrest. There were no injuries reported at either incident.
Paris is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and he is currently being held at the Allen County jail.
