Friday Marks A Special Nolan Ryan Anniversary
Nolan Ryan is one of the greatest pitchers in the history of baseball.
The Hall-of-Famer split time between the New York Mets, California Angels, Houston Astros, and Texas Rangers.
The right-hander was an eight-time All-Star and won two ERA titles.
However, one of his most memorable moments came in the latter stages of his career.
In 1993, Ryan was pitching his final season in the Major Leagues.
On August 4 of that year, he was facing the Chicago White Sox and drilled a young Robin Ventura with a pitch.
Ventura charged the mound, but Ryan was prepared and showed no mercy as he put the White Sox star right back in his place.
On Twitter, a baseball history fan page posted the video of the moment.

Ryan was 46 years old at the time of this incident.
At first, it appeared as if Ventura was headed down to first base.
But the White Sox star refused to let it slide and ultimately rushed Ryan.
However, he never stood a chance.
Ryan was ready to go and delivered punch after punch on Ventura.
This caused the benches to clear, and an all-out brawl ultimately ensued.
At the end, Ryan emerged victorious.
As the right-hander was being escorted back to the Rangers dugout by umpires, he continued to shout at the White Sox.
But when the dust settled, Ryan came out on top after having taught Ventura a valuable lesson, one that he wouldn’t soon forget.
It didn’t take long for Ryan to assert his dominance and put the young White Sox star right back in his place.
