With just one simple comment, Joel Embiid has NBA fans wondering if he will demand a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers.

His words, spoken a few days ago during a Q&A, have led fans and analysts to discuss every possible trade.

While every team would want Embiid, few could find a way to land him.

But the Miami Heat might be able to.

Mike Scotto, via NBACentral, pointed out that the Heat have one of Embiid’s good friends, Jimmy Butler.

He also noted that Bam Adebayo, the team’s current A-list big man, could be used as a chip in any possible trade for Embiid.

The Heat are currently trying to figure out how to convince the Portland Trail Blazers to send them Damian Lillard.

During those negotiations, they have made it clear that Adebayo is not an option and have shot down any attempt for him.

But would they do the same if Embiid was on the table?

Obviously, Embiid and Adebayo have similar builds and they play similar roles too.

Exchanging Adebayo for Embiid might not sound too bad for the Heat.

Of course, they wouldn’t be the only team trying to land the reigning MVP if he ever decided to cut ties with Philadelphia.

He is the sort of All-Star who would attract every single team in the Association.

Nearly every front office would put together some type of deal.

But the Sixers have shown that they don’t agree to any trade unless they’re really excited by it.

So if the Heat were able to send them Adebayo and some other assets, they could be frontrunners to make something happen.
