MLB has always been looking for ways to speed up the game.

One way they are doing that this year is by implementing the pitch clock.

It has made the games quicker and is working exactly as MLB has hoped.

But, there are still some players that are getting used to the new rules.

We have seen countless pitch clock violations from both the pitchers and batters.

That is why MLBPA chief Tony Clark is hoping for an adjusted pitch clock come playoff time.

According to Chelsea Janes, Clark said he is hopeful to find a way where there can be adjustments to the pitch clock.

He also mentioned how he does not want postseason games decided on pitch clock violations.

The pitch clock is here to stay but adjustments could be made to add some extra time in the postseason.

MLB knows each rule will not be endorsed by every player, yet finding common ground is ideal.

Another way MLB has hoped to speed up the game is by limiting the number of pick-offs.

Not only has that rule sped up the game but it has also led to more stolen bases and more excitement.

According to MLB Run, last season an average game took 3 hours and 6 minutes to complete.

This year the average game is only 2 hours and 38 minutes long.

Less time and more excitement for the games seem like a good deal for players and fans.

It will be interesting to see if the MLBPA will be successful in their hopes of a longer pitch clock.
