On Thursday, all 30 teams in the NBA were able to start signing the free agents they were able to come to terms with once free agency got underway almost a week ago.

After agreeing to terms with four players in free agency over the course of the last week or so, the Los Angeles Lakers have made their deals official, starting with incoming point guard Gabe Vincent.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, the Lakers have officially signed the former Miami Heat guard.

Vincent became a household name during the NBA playoffs recently, as he helped lead the Heat to the NBA Finals from the Play-In Tournament as the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Miami made Vincent their starting point guard and never looked back as the undrafted guard was able to far exceed expectations, much like the way his team was able to make easy work of the competition in the East during the postseason.

This was somewhat of an unexpected move for the Lakers, with the storied franchise expected to re-sign guards Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell this summer.

Both Reaves and Russell can play the point guard position, which makes the acquisition of Vincent an interesting move, but it was solid nonetheless, as he is a pure point guard and has a chance to be the starter heading into training camp.

Ultimately, the Lakers re-signed Reaves and Russell this summer and brought in Vincent while letting Dennis Schroder walk in free agency.

Schroder ended up signing with the Toronto Raptors on a lucrative two-year deal.
