It’s Election Day in Ohio | News, Sports, Jobs
Today is Election Day in Ohio. Polling locations will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
If you take the time to look at a sample ballot or to otherwise research the candidates and issues before you head out to cast your vote, you will see that the ballot for this primary election is a relatively light one.
But that is no reason to not do your civic duty.
There are several important local races, and contested primaries for governor, U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives.
Locally, there are contested primaries for the Republican nomination for county commission seats in both Belmont and Harrison counties.
There are also some important local issues to consider, such as a levy to support the Harrison County Home, a levy to benefit the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and a levy to fund operations of the Jefferson County 911 system.
If you’ve not taken advantage of the many options to vote early, please get out to the polls today and cast your ballot. It’s our most basic civic principle — one person, one vote. Cast yours this Election Day.
