The Baltimore Orioles have to be excited about the present and future of their organization.

Coming off a 2023 season where they had the best record in baseball, the arrow is pointing up in Baltimore.

Not only do they have a great set of young players, but they have money to spend on quality veterans.

We saw them acquire Corbin Burnes from the Milwaukee Brewers, so now they have a bona fide ace.

But, they still have money to acquire another.

According to Buster Olney, the Orioles need another starting pitcher and are currently only set to spend $100 million on the payroll.

They could be interested in signing Blake Snell or Jordan Montgomery.

If they can add Snell, that would give them two former Cy Young winners in the rotation.

Also, that move should make them favorites to win the American League.

But, if they wanted to go for the cheaper option, Montgomery is a solid starter as well.

He could slot in right behind Burnes and be a great addition.

Seeing what the Orioles do will tell us a lot about how serious they are about winning the World Series.

They have a lineup that should be able to compete with anyone.

But, they are relying on a lot of unproven starting pitchers outside of Burnes.

The AL East is looking like the toughest division in baseball.

It is almost a guarantee you are going to need 100+ wins to bring home the division crown.

Last season, the Orioles won it with exactly 100 wins, but they should be hoping for more in 2024.
