The Is Reportedly Growing Frustration With 1 NBA Coach
The Los Angeles Lakers made a tough call when they fired Frank Vogel.
He had gotten them an NBA championship, but it seemed like he had lost his voice in the locker room.
That often means he had lost his pull with LeBron James.
The Lakers made an even more questionable decision when they replaced a well-seasoned championship-winning coach with a first-timer.
Darvin Ham was met with criticism and plenty of questions, and the team got off to a dreadful start to the season.
They managed to turn things around and a mid-season roster overhaul helped them make a deep playoff push, thus cementing Ham at the helm.
But things haven’t worked out this season, and it seems like he’s losing his leverage within the team.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, there’s plenty of frustration within the Lakers organization, as multiple people believe he’s not the right guy to turn things around right now (via Basketball on X and NBA Central):
“The noise is very loud, there’s a lot of people very frustrated,” reported Fischer.
“There’s just a lot of chatter from people around the organization that he’s not the guy that’s gonna be able to get this thing over the hump… The noise is very loud, there’s a lot of people very frustrated…”

Ham has recently downplayed all reports about his job being in jeopardy and urged the fans to be more patient because the NBA season was ‘a marathon, not a sprint.’
But it’s undeniable that the players are frustrated, starting with LeBron and Anthony Davis, and that’s never a good omen for any coach.
Ham might be on borrowed time in Los Angeles, and he needs to turn things around now.
