How To Have a Spiritual Thanksgiving Celebration

Thanksgiving is when friends and family gather around to eat turkey dinners, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, corn, peas and carrots, and pumpkin pie. And then, the day of giving thanks to the Universe for all the blessings in your life becomes forgotten when people fight with one another to get the best sales on Black Friday.

You don’t want to be someone known to fight with others on Black Friday while you were giving thanks the day before. And how do you truly spend your Thanksgiving? Do you only look forward to the day because it is a day to celebrate and eat, or do you want to enjoy having a spiritual celebration for the day? Let’s first discuss the meaning of Thanksgiving and how you can have a spiritual holiday.

The Meaning Behind Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is an American holiday that the pilgrims established, and Canada celebrates it too, but in October, it is somewhat different. The celebration of Thanksgiving is to give thanks for the harvests of the past year. During farming in previous times, there have been times of scarcity, and every time there was a rich harvest, it was time to celebrate it.

One thing associated with Thanksgiving is the cornucopia, which represents food, prosperity, and abundance, and the origin of it comes from mythology. The Roman goddess of luck, Fortuna, carried around the cornucopia, and she quickly developed an association with good luck and was there to ward off anything harmful. Now, this goddess is known as Lady Luck.

Therefore, the spiritual way to celebrate Thanksgiving is to express gratitude for all of your blessings, and you are also expressing gratitude for the gifts that will come to you in the future. Therefore, what you do when you celebrate the true meaning of Thanksgiving by expressing gratitude is practicing the Law of Attraction without even realizing it. Now, let’s get more into the nitty-gritty of how to celebrate a spiritual Thanksgiving.

Reflect What You Are Thankful For Even If Life Is Challenging Right Now

Life is never meant to be easy, and without any stress, you would never have the opportunity to evolve. However, sometimes, life can throw you too many wrenches to the point that it is too overwhelming. That is why so many people struggle with burnout, and that makes stress management more essential than ever. If you are going through a challenging time, one spiritual way to honor Thanksgiving is to show gratitude for your blessings, no matter how small they may be, including a sunny day with mild weather. If that is the only thing you can express gratitude for right now because you have too much stress and grief that is wearing you down, that is okay. You want to make it genuine, and if you give thanks for your blessings, then the Universe will provide you with more blessings to come. If you can enjoy a hearty meal despite dealing with hardship, don’t forget to thank the Universe for that, too.

Spend Time With The People You Care About

One of the best gifts you have is having your loved ones around. And you want to ensure you can spend Thanksgiving with those who mean a lot to you and make the day meaningful. If you have no family that can see you or if you have a strained relationship with your family, you will want to spend time with some friends. And even if you don’t have genuine friends, you can count on, besides not having family, plenty of places of worship and community centers offer Thanksgiving dinners for those in your position.

You also have an opportunity to connect with those in your community who are in similar circumstances to you, and you have the chance to create some meaningful friendships. That is a beautiful gift from the Universe. Therefore, there is never a reason that you should spend Thanksgiving alone, regardless of your situation regarding family and friends.

Don’t Worry About Having “The Perfect” Thanksgiving Dinner

If you are hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year, don’t get too hung up on having the ideal Thanksgiving dinner consisting of turkey, gravy, stuffing, etc. Remember, you are hosting the dinner to spend quality time with the people who mean a lot to you. If you get too hung up on having the ideal dinner, you focus on the wrong thing about the holiday. Besides, you will not enjoy the holiday if you are stressed with having to cook everything and then clean. You can always make it easy by ordering pizza or Chinese takeout. Focus on enjoying the time you have with your friends and family. There is nothing more sacred than that.

Lend A Helping Hand

Is someone close to you who needs some help with something right now? You may have a loved one or a good friend who is moving, and they need help with organizing and packing. Do you have a friend or a loved one who has young kids and could use a nap or some time to themselves, and the only way they can have that is if someone watches their children for an hour? If you have someone close to you who needs a helping hand…
