The Dallas Cowboys started this season with three blowout wins in their first four games, and many were saying that they were possibly the best team in the NFC, if not the entire NFL.

But they got dismantled by the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, and that setback came two weeks after they lost to the Arizona Cardinals, a team that may have the worst active roster in the league.

But the Cowboys may be getting back on track, as they downed the Los Angeles Rams, 43-20, on Sunday.

Nick Wright said on FS1’s “First Things First” that he feels they have regained their mojo and are looking like Super Bowl contenders again.

Wright praised Dallas’ defense, which, while not quite at the historic level of dominance some expected, is playing relatively well, at least statistically.

On Sunday, it held Los Angeles quarterback Matthew Stafford to a 13 of 22 completion rate for 162 yards and just one touchdown pass against one interception.

Rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua, who has been a sensation this season, had a season-low three catches on seven targets for 43 yards.

On offense, quarterback Dak Prescott was outstanding, connecting on 25 of 31 passes for 304 yards and four touchdown passes.

Dallas has now improved to 5-2 on the season, and they will have a huge statement game this coming Sunday at the Philadelphia Eagles, the defending NFC champions who are in first place in the NFC East at 7-1.

If the Cowboys want to truly prove they’re championship material, they will need to head into the Delaware Valley and pull off an upset over Jalen Hurts and company.
