At six-foot-two, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors is taller than many men.

But he’s nothing compared to Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs.

Wembanyama is seven-foot-four and looks like every single inch of it.

Curry learned that the hard way on Friday night, as he was surprisingly chosen to face Wembanyama during the tip-off of their preseason match.

Following the game, Wembanyama spoke about the moment to Tom Orsborn.

“I was surprised. I thought he was joking at first. But it’s fun. It’s the preseason,” Wembanyama said.

If it was a joke, Curry didn’t seem to think so because he appeared to take his tip-off duties very seriously.

Of course, it was Wembanyama who made contact with the ball.

He easily tipped it in his team’s direction with total ease.

The Spurs would eventually go on to beat the Warriors in their last preseason game and now Wembanyama is awaiting the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night while Curry will face off against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.

For Wembanyama, this must have been quite a bizarre and exciting moment.

Just a few years ago, he was watching Curry rule the NBA and win his fourth Finals ring.

Now he is squaring up against him during tip-off.

Wembanyama has certainly come a long way and the season is about to officially begin.

NBA fans have seen Curry do a whole lot during his years in the league but this was certainly a first.

And it might be a last too; now that the preseason is over, Curry will go back to his role of leading the team and leave tip-offs to someone much bigger.
