The Dallas Cowboys are 3-1 so far this season and have looked dominant at times, but they will face a fierce test this Sunday when they visit the San Francisco 49ers, their longtime rivals.

This will be a stiff measuring stick for them against the team that has knocked them out of the playoffs in both of the last two seasons.

Star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb sat out of practice recently, but he says he will suit up and play on Sunday evening, per Jon Machota.

The 49ers have arguably the best defense in the NFL, and they will present a big test for Lamb, who has made the Pro Bowl the last two years.

He is off to a solid start this year with 309 receiving yards and a touchdown through four games.

One problem for Dallas is their lack of a productive WR2 — Brandin Cooks was acquired during the offseason to play that role, but he has put up only 66 yards in three games this year.

They rank just 14th in passing yards and 18th in passing touchdowns so far in 2023.

Their rushing defense, which is 16th in yards given up, will also be put to a big test on Sunday when they go up against Christian McCaffrey, who is leading everyone is rushing yards and is tied for the lead in rushing touchdowns.

McCaffrey scored a total of four touchdowns in Week 4, and containing him has to be job one for the Cowboys, who can make a huge statement by getting a win in Santa Clara on Sunday.
