Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Seemingly Criticizes Luka Doncic Comparisons

The NBA is more stacked with talent now than it has ever been.

And several of the young faces of today’s game came in the 2018 NBA Draft, a class that could go down as one of the best ever once it’s all said and done.

Deandre Ayton, Trae Young, Jaren Jackson Jr., Mikal Bridges, Miles Bridges, Michael Porter Jr., Anfernee Simons, Jalen Brunson, Bruce Brown, and Mitchell Robinson are just some of the most prominent names who entered the league in that class.

However, most people can agree that Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have been the two best players from that year thus far, which is why fans seem to be comparing them all the time.

Recently, a debate on social media about who had the ‘deeper bag’ between Shai and Luka caught the Oklahoma City Thunder’s star attention, and he took to social media to share his frustration about that (via Per Sources).

Truth be told, you couldn’t go wrong either way if you had to pick one player or the other.

Luka has proven to be a unique talent and one of the most skilled players we’ve seen in decades, whereas Shai just broke out as a dominant scorer and lockdown defender.

Doncic might be a better playmaker, and Shai could be a more versatile scorer.

Doncic might be more durable, while Shai is a much better defender, and so on.

At the end of the day, there’s no need to compare two young guys who are just starting to write their names in this league’s history.
