Bam Adebayo Calls Out NBA Players Over Load Management

Load management is one of the hottest topics in the NBA today.

Countless writers and fans have spoken out about the practice, which involves players sitting out of games when they are healthy in order to preserve their physicality for the rest of the long season.

Some NBA stars have also spoken out about this approach.

Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat spoke with Playmaker and he made it clear that he’s not a fan of load management.

“That bothers me in a sense because you have kids and parents who want to see you play,” he said.

He added that some fans come from the inner city to attend games and they are then disappointed when they spend their hard-earned cash only to miss out on their favorite stars.

Adebayo said that he would have given all that he had as a young man to watch Kobe Bryant play.

He can imagine the heartbreak that people experience when players sit out of games.

For most of his career, Adebayo has put his money where his mouth is.

Last season, he played in 75 games.

The season before that, he participated in 56 and missed a stretch in the middle of the season because of injury.

All in all, he is one of the most reliable big men in the league and doesn’t miss many games because of injury or load management.

He surely won’t be the last star to comment on this controversy.

In the months and years ahead, the NBA will have to crack down on load management more and figure out ways to combat it.

Otherwise, they will alienate and anger fans – and some players too.
