After being eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the NBA playoffs, the Golden State Warriors didn’t waste any time once the offseason got underway to make moves in an attempt to improve their team.

Following the departure of longtime general manager Bob Myers, the Warriors were able to re-sign star forward Draymond Green to a lucrative long-term deal and then made a questionable trade that no one saw coming.

The Warriors traded young guard Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards and received future Hall of Famer Chris Paul in exchange, which was an interesting move, to say the least.

Although Paul is clearly talented and will go down as one of the best point guards in league history, he doesn’t seem like a great fit in Steve Kerr’s fast-paced offense, but the head coach is confident Paul is a missing piece to the puzzle in San Francisco.

Kerr talked about how the team became too one-dimensional with Stephen Curry last year, and Paul brings another playmaker into the mix that the team needs in an interview with Sports Illustrated via ClutchPoints.

Although Kerr claims Paul’s playmaking ability is something the team needs moving forward, it will be interesting to see how the veteran guard fits in with players he’s had beef with in the past.

There was no love lost between Paul and Curry before this trade, as a result of the battles between the Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers in the past.

Only time will tell if this trade pays off or becomes a disaster, with no telling how things will pan out in the Bay Area next season.
