Few teams made more headlines in the NBA than the Los Angeles Lakers this summer, and it wasn’t for the reasons that usually have the Purple and Gold faithful buzzing, as the team decided against going after a superstar talent like Kyrie Irving, instead deciding to stick with a solid gameplan.

That gameplan was mapped out by GM Rob Pelinka, who made it abundantly clear that the team was going to keep its core intact while hopefully adding some pivotal role players into the championship puzzle in Los Angeles.

Pelinka was able to accomplish just that with the team bringing back Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, and Rui Hachimura while also signing four potentially key free agents.

One of those free agents was a player that had been linked to the Lakers for years but never ended up landing in Los Angeles until he could make the decision himself in free agency.

On Wednesday, LeBron James went out of his way to show a little love to Lakers newcomer Cam Reddish on Twitter by retweeting highlights posted by the team account.

Out of all the moves the Lakers made this offseason, bringing in Reddish might have been the most questionable, as he’s bounced around the league quite a bit for a former lottery pick out of Duke University.

The Lakers will be Reddish’s fourth team after short stints with the Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks, and Portland Trail Blazers.

Although there’s no telling what the Lakers will get from Reddish, James seems optimistic about his new teammate, which must mean something.
