One of the greatest coaches in basketball history recently walked away from the game, with Mike Krzyzewski, better known simply as Coach K, stepping down as head coach of Duke University after an incredible run with the school.

With Coach K seemingly content in retirement, he hasn’t been heard from much and hasn’t made many public appearances, especially since it has been his intention to stay retired and not get lured back into the game in some capacity, whether it be in the college game or the NBA level.

Surprisingly enough, the five-time NCAA champion was seen sitting courtside during the NBA Summer League, as he was chopping it up with some of the players on the Atlanta Hawks, as the team’s Twitter account pointed out.

With Coach K being such a prominent figure in basketball up there with the likes of Phil Jackson and Pat Riley and some of the great coaches in today’s game, like Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr, an appearance like this will make some noise and potentially start some buzz.

Although Coach K has flirted with the idea of giving the NBA a try, most notably with the Los Angeles Lakers while Kobe Bryant was still playing, he never made the jump and was more than content winning gold medals as head coach of Team USA.

However, retirement can change perceptions and make successful coaches like Coach K change their minds, but as of right now, it seems he is comfortable with retirement and enjoys being a fan watching the game.
