Trinny Woodall shares the ‘magic’ travel routine she follows to get glowing skin

British beauty guru Trinny Woodall has jetted to Australia to announce her latest store openings – and shared her foolproof travel routine for combatting jet lag in the process.

The 58-year-old style maven well-known for her BBC show What Not To Wear beside good friend Susannah Constantine spoke to FEMAIL about opening two pop up shops in Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney and Westfield Doncaster in Melbourne, as well as her top flying tips.

Touching down on Friday evening last week, Trinny came prepared with three suitcases filled with colourful clothes and ointments to help her work 12-hour days non stop.

An hour before her flight left from London Trinny took melatonin to switch her body from 'day' to 'night' so she could rest during the 22-hour travelling time

'It is not a sleeping pill but you take it an hour before you flight. It just makes your body switch that it's night time now. This time I have no jet lag,' she said

An hour before her flight left from London Trinny took melatonin to switch her body from ‘day’ to ‘night’ so she could rest during the 24-hour travelling time.

‘It is not a sleeping pill but you take it an hour before you flight. It just makes your body switch that it’s night time now. This time I have no jet lag,’ she said.

‘I always put on three applications of our Plump Up serum which is incredible and I microneedle it. Then I put on a dry sheet mask – Nannette de Gaspe – just to hold it all in. They’re really good.’

She applies a lip balm like Laneige or Lanolips to maintain hydration and – for the first time – donned a hoodie like her daughter Lyla to ‘feel comfortable’.

‘It’s a very good little trick. I did what my daughter did for the first time too and I wore a hoodie. I find a hoodie really good because it protects you and that is my new joy: the hoodie. Who would have known at age 58,’ she said.

Trinny gushed about the latest serum to join her Trinny London range of skincare and called it the ‘sweets’ nestled between the essentials.

‘I wanted something that is like the sweets – everything else in the range is like the spinach and the salmon – and this Plump Up is the pudding. If you had to have an analogy for food which is very easy for me to do,’ she said.

‘You should be doing your retinol and AHAs and things but this is the extra that everyone ends up using twice a day.

‘I use TipToe In, then I’ll do a spritz and then I will put on Pump Up into the spritz so it holds it and is very hydrating. And then I’ll do another pump. And that combination gives me this skin.

‘It’s like picking from your favourite children, and you shouldn’t, but this really is my favourite I have to say.

‘In our clinical trials we got a 64 per cent increase in firmness in 12 weeks. And we all know I do Botox but this for my skin I feel amazing… it really is the most exciting thing.’

In an earlier packing video shared to YouTube Trinny spoke about using her bespoke containers to itemise her packing.

‘I bring my Trinny London containers with different things in them. I’ve got a jewellery one in something small so they don’t rattle around,’ she said.

‘I’ve got pills, my supplements morning and evening and my hormones. They’re in a container I got off Amazon. I bring root tint because my hair grows out really quickly, my shampoo from Hair Story and a blue shampoo in case my hair lightens in the sun.

‘Whenever I travel I like to bring things that I took forever to discover… actually I’m trying these for the first time [b12 supplements for jet lag], Altrient for vitamic C, elderberry tincture for healing any bronchial infection.’

The magnetic Trinny London founder never holds back when it comes to sharing her tricks and despite preaching a ‘simple is best’ mantra in most things, she is open about her ‘complex’ skincare routine and anti-ageing go-tos.

‘My skincare routine is quite complicated,’ Trinny has said previously.

‘I clean my skin twice at night – once with a balm and then with an AHA BHA PHA gel. Then I will do a little acid, retinol and finish with a peptide. In the…
