Bristol Airport Live: ‘Absolute shambles’ as travellers forced to wait two hours

Air passengers at Bristol Airport were forced to wait almost two hours to collect their bags.

It comes amid an exceptionally busy month for the airport, with a number of occasions where travellers have been forced to queue outside the building just to check-in.

Several posts on social media say people have had to wait an hour or longer to get their cases off the carousel this morning at around 2am. (May 15., 2022).

@RustyF said: “Baggage calamity at @BristolAirport. Three flights waiting for bags to appear on same belt. @jet2tweets are here to support but @easyJet are conspicuously absent. Thank god not here with kids.”

Bristol Live was also emailed by a woman who said she had to wait three hours for her bags with kids. She said: “Tui customers waiting over three hours for luggage. Jet2 customers waiting over two and a half hours for luggage. easyJet customers waiting over 40 minutes.”

A Bristol Airport spokesperson said: “Baggage delays were experienced last night to some flights arriving into Bristol Airport in the early hours of Sunday 15 May. Bristol Airport apologises and appreciates the frustration customers experienced due to the delay in the arrival of their bags. An internal investigation with the airline handling agents will be completed.’
